E-mail Print
Every human being has life aspirations. A person works hard because he wants to get rich. Another will do his best to win friends and be popular. Still, another would work out in a gym and eat well-balanced diet daily to have good health

Often, you may wonder, no matter how you work hard to gain wealth, popularity or knowledge, you would notice little or no progress. Then you will ask yourself what else should you do?

Do not despair, for there is still hope, says Marites Allen, feng shui master and owner of World Of Feng Shui boutique (tel. Nos. 914-7888 and 910-6000). Marites Allen has gone through extensive studies and training in the art and science of feng shui under Lillian Too, an internationally famous and well-respected geomancer and feng shui master from Malaysia.

Marites says that you need not be an expert in the field of feng shui to “heal the wounds of your aspirations”. Here are some examples of simple and effective ways to energize the various sectors of your homes, offices or business establishments.

The energies of the eight aspects will be activated and energized by the feng shui products and shall enhance various aspects of your life. Marites says that everyone’s life aspiration can be enhanced by the pa kwa (ba gua). The pak wa is an octagonal instrument with a figure of the yin and yang symbol in the center. This is widely used by the ancient and modern Chinese to bring good luck in health, wealth and others. The pa kwa also balances the positive and negative energies in out life, Marites explains. Contrary to what a recent movie about feng shui depicted, the pa kwa never brings curses or bad luck, Marites explains.

The eight sides of the octagonal pa kwa represents the eight “main signs” or main directions in our environment. Each direction has its designated element.

Here are other tips:

  • For fame and popularity. The south is the sector for fame and popularity, and fire is its element. Display pictures or figurines of horses to energize fame and recognition. Phoenix, lighted lamps and candles can also be used. Red is the color for the south.

  • For luck in love. Earth is the element of the southwest and brown is the color that will energize this sector designated for luck in love and marriage. Display a pair of Mandarin ducks. You can also place rose quartz in the shape of hearts and love gem trees in the southwestern part of you room or table.

  • For helpful friends. The northwest color is grey and this sector of the pa kwa is assigned to mentor luck. To be able to get helpful friends and wise teachers, put a kwan kung figurine in this direction. Paintings or statuettes of chung kwei or fuk luk sku may also be placed.

  • For career success. Water is the element for the north and blue is the color for this section. To energize career luck, display the figurine of a dragon-headed tortoise to boost your career luck. Arowanas, goldfish, water features like mini-fountains, waterfalls (or a painting of waterfalls), Amethysts gem trees are also favorable.

  • For luck in education. Luck in education will be energized by gold or yellow gold in the northeast that will enhance good education and knowledge. The dragon carp is also excellent.

  • For family and health luck. Dark green is the color of the east and wood is its element. Family and health luck will be energized by displaying a tortoise or wu lou. A laughing Buddha and jade tree are also good energizers.

  • The southwest energizes wealth luck and the color that will enhance the luck is yellow green. Wood is its element. Display figures of redwood arowanas or wealth ships laden with gold ingots and crystal chips for abundant wealth luck.
