If
you are among the countless who have embraced the practice of Feng
Shui, then knowing that there is finally a one-stop boutique for all
your Feng Shui needs right in the heart of the Ortigas Business
District will surely be to your pure delight. November 18 2004
witnessed the official launch of the World of Feng Shui’s (WOFS)
flagship boutique in the Philippines. Located at the Ground Floor of
The Podium, the World of Feng Shui was inaugurated in a low-key but
elegant ceremony, of course awash with Feng Shui rites to usher in luck
and prosperity.
The boutique façade was tastefully draped in burgundy and gold
trimmings, providing a perfect match to the boutique’s interiors.
Inside, one will be awed by WOFS’ amazing collection of Feng Shui luck,
charms, cures and enhancers, as well as auspicious art and gift items.
A nook located just beside the boutique’s 8 foot water star feature is
dedicated exclusively to Lillian Too’s latest books.
Closed
door ceremonies started as early as 11 am. Held first was a traditional
blessing officiated by Rev. Venancio Silva, OSJ, followed by a space
clearing ceremony using authentic crystal singing bowls and 7-metal
bells flown all the way from Malaysia to create plenty of fresh energy
inside the boutique. Opening rites started at exactly 3:00 pm – a very
auspicious time for opening business. Ms Gloria Diaz – herself an avid
Feng Shui practitioner and who was once featured in the international
magazine Feng Shui World, did the ribbon cutting together with WOFS
Phils., Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer
Marites Allen while
Nick Allen,
WOFS Phils., Inc. Chairman did the ceremonial unveiling of the floor
compass. As the Allens jubilantly announced the opening of the
boutique, they tied charms to the door and vigorously rang WOFS
auspicious singing bells to attract fresh yang energy and good fortune,
and to formally welcome the guests in. Among those present were SM VP
for Leasing Ms. Daisy Tan Chua, Mr. Ng Chin Fei of SM Keppel Land Inc.,
National Bookstore Founder and President Mrs. Socorro Ramos, Mr. Ric
Ondrick from the ADB, Steven Tan, Allan Brosas and Michael Chan of
Podium, Rotary Club of Pasong Tamo President Al Perez, CCJS Law Office
partners Attys. Elpidio Jamora, Jr. and Benjie Somera, Jr., friends
from the American Women’s Council of the Philippines, British Women’s
Council of the Philippines, and in Touch Foundation, as well as friends
and representatives from the media.
The
guests then gathered in front of the counter to witness the unveiling
of WOFS’s signature Dragon and Globe scroll plaque. Nickque Tan,
WOFS.Com Franchise Director explained that this ceremony has a symbolic
significance as it represents the awakening of the Dragon once a bright
light is shone upon it, which as a result will bring powerful and
auspicious yang chi to the entire boutique
Undoubtedly,
the event highlight was a wish-fulfilling balloon ceremony, where
burgundy and gold balloons containing the guests’ handwritten wishes
were released into the sky. It is believed that releasing balloons is
an effective way if communicating with the Sky Dragon, which has the
power to propel all wishes into the cosmos. The event ended with guests
treated to a sumptuous afternoon snack. All told, the event was a
resounding success.
